چکیده
The emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has become a major challenge in current clinical treatment. As essential natural molecules involved innate immunity, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have the potential to break limits antibiotic resistance. While AMPs are widely presented various organisms on this planet, marine environment is unique generating large number that exhibit characteristic structures and functions. This review summarizes mechanisms action derived from invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals ocean. comparison different habitats demonstrates preference Arg (arginine) Leu (leucine) AMPs, which might be associated with adaptation features bacterial membranes environments. In addition, applications for development novel antibiotics also described. These summaries expected provide reference utilization resources drug or aquiculture.

Bioactive Peptides and Depsipeptides with Anticancer Potential: Sources from Marine Animals
Biologically active compounds with different modes of action, such as, antiproliferative, antioxidant, antimicrotubule, have been isolated from marine sources, specifically algae and cyanobacteria. Recently research has been focused on peptides from marine animal sources, since they have been found as secondary metabolites from sponges, ascidians, tunicates, and mollusks. The structural charact...

Marine invertebrates lack an acquired, memory-type immunity based on T-lymphocyte subsets and clonally derived immunoglobulins (72). This differs from the vertebrate immune system, which is characterized by somatic gene rearrangement, clonal selection, and expansion and a discriminative ability that includes lymphocytes, among other factors, which impart specificity and memory (71). Marine inve...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Peptides from Marine Proteobacteria
After years of inadequate use and the emergence of multidrug resistant (MDR) strains, the efficiency of "classical" antibiotics has decreased significantly. New drugs to fight MDR strains are urgently needed. Bacteria hold much promise as a source of unusual bioactive metabolites. However, the potential of marine bacteria, except for Actinomycetes and Cyanobacteria, has been largely underexplor...
متن کاملAntimicrobial peptides from animals: focus on invertebrates.
antimicrobial peptides has been isolated from animals and plants during the past two decades. Three novel classes of natural antibiotics (anionic peptides, aromatic dipeptides and processed forms of oxygen-binding proteins) have recently been isolated from different vertebrate and invertebrate species. In this article, we present an overview of natural animal anti-microbials, with an emphasis o...

--Marine organisms represent a valuable source of new compounds. The biodiversity of the marine environment and the associated chemical diversity constitute a practically unlimited resource of new active substances in the field of the development of bioactive products. In this paper, the molecular diversity of different marine peptides is described as well as information about their biological ...
